Katy and Martin’s Elopement Day

Eloping isn’t about running away—it’s about running toward what matters most: love, connection, and a day that is truly yours. Katy and Marin travelled from the south of England to Scotland for their Dunskey Estate Elopement. They eloped with two Welsh Corgi dogs to celebrate their love during summertime. Katy and Marin were lucky enough to be married during a rare, sunny day in Scotland.

The couple stayed overnight with their dogs in one of the cottages with a stunning view of the sea, but moved to the Castle to get ready for the ceremony. That was the moment I met them. Katy and Marin are book lovers, so the rooms full of books and an additional rich library were a nice touch for their meaningful Dunskey Estate Elopement day.

Dunskey Dunskey Estate Wedding Ceremony

Couples getting married at Dunskey estate have a great range of choices for wedding ceremony spot. From sea shore through woodland to walled garden and green house in case of rain. Katy and Martin picked ceremony under clear sky by the loch. One of the stunning places in Dunskey Estate. Humanist ceremony was leaded by Ronit Quayle. Katy and Martin joined at the wrist because the skin is thinnest there so it’s the closest two heartbeats can get. Then Ronit wrapped their hand-fasting tie around their joined wrists and when they stepped back, as if by magic, the knot was tied.

Dunskey Estate Elopement – Epilogue

When I photograph Dunskey Estate Elopement, it’s not just about capturing the way the couple looks—it’s about the feeling. The way they hold each other in the silence of the Highlands. I watched Katy and Martin promise forever to each other, with the wind in their hair and tears in their eyes. We wandered through the woodland and watched the sunset on that glorious day. No audience but us. No pressure. Just the two of them and me, quietly documenting every heartbeat.

This is why I do what I do. This is why I’m lucky to be a Scotland Wedding Photographer.
