Elopement at Glenapp Castle

Cool, Alternative Elopement at Glenapp Castle, Scotland

Elopement at Glenapp Castle – Elizabeth and Simon

This beautiful Elopement at Glenapp Castle of Elizabeth and Simon’s was one of a kind. What does alternative elopement mean? What does it make a standout? To me, it’s a wedding challenging to classify and uneasy put into one category. An alternative way to get married it’s an elopement choice – from the venue, dress and details to the ultra cool couple, goth style and tattoos. And yet – very Scottish to the roots.

Scroll down for reasons as to why an elopement at Glenapp Castle might be just the right thing for you.

Why Glenapp Castle?

Elopement at Glenapp Castle has a luxury feel without breaking the bank. This five-star hotel will set couples willing to get married under £5k for a three-day stay package. This package includes traditional Scottish piper. It’s a reasonable value for what Glenapp Castle has to offer. But let’s face it. Couples don’t book the venues mainly for the price but for the feel and all the memories from the elopement day.

The castle team? Absolute legends. They’ll handle everything from full planning to private chefs. It’s the royal treatment.

They can help plan:

  • A completely private ceremony
  • Gourmet meals by candlelight
  • Bespoke floral arrangements
  • Next-day adventures around the Scottish countryside
  • All the quiet, magical moments in between

This kind of elopement is for the couples who value comfort and peace of mind over moody and unpredictable Scottish weather.

The Dream Elopement Day

Elizabeth and Simon chose the library as the ceremony spot for their elopement at Glenapp Castle. It is a cozy, quiet room that is perfect for an elopement ceremony. After the ceremony, we explored the impressive interiors of the castle. From a wedding photographer’s perspective, the large windows and spotlights are fantastic. Elizabeth and Simon requested a darker, moodier wedding photography style, and the castle’s interiors are ideal for capturing romantic, dark-style portraits with natural light.

After a session in the castle’s interior, We explored the Glenapp Castle’s outdoor surroundings, starting with the gardens. Following from there, we headed towards the lochside. Walking over an impressive size area, we discovered some fantastic hidden gem locations in the woodlands. As a Scottish elopement photographer, I loved being able to wander around this beautiful setting. This relaxed elopement at Glenapp Castle was a joy to photograph. Elizabeth and Simon were easy easygoing, laid-back couple to work with.

Pro Tips for the Dreamiest Day

  • Golden hour is your best friend. Those castle walls + sunset glow = photographer’s kiss photos.
  • Bring stylish layers. A warm faux-fur boa, like the one worn by Elizabeth or a thick Scottish wool kilt, is the way to go in the wintertime.
  • Don’t forget your vows. This place practically writes them for you, but make sure vows are personal and meaningful.
  • Lean into the magic. Trust the photographer – just roll with it. Be present, focus on your partner and feel this castle heritage magic.

An elopement at Glenapp Castle feels like stepping into your own romantic novel – only with better lighting and not tragic plot twists. It perfectly blends elegance, adventure, and relaxation. If you’re dreaming of a wedding that is intimate, unforgettable, and a little magical, Glenapp is the place for you. I highly recommend you answer the call.
