The Venue
Harvest Moon is located under hour drive from Edinburgh to the east coast of the sea.
I can safely say it’s on one of the most beautifully located farm-vibe venues in East Lothian. It’s a fairly new venue on the wedding suppliers map, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was already excited as a wedding photographer, knowing the location.
The barn, surrounded by pine tree woodland, with an easy access to nearby located beach is a dream. Harvest Moon Venue offer an accommodation in a tree houses for the guests and extra space in the cottage, mainly for the bride and her family. Last nut not least, the parking space is great as well. The whole venue has a peaceful, close to the nature vibe with a tree house accommodation.

Woodland Charm Ceremony
Harvest Moon Venue due to its diverse location offer either woodland or beach wedding ceremony with an option of ceremony inside the spacious barn main venue as a backup plan. Luckily for Lorna and David, an autumnal, October day was exceptional, with clear sky above.
Although the whole wedding had a nautical “Little Mermaid” Disney vibe, the couple opted for ceremony in nearby woodland. On the good day it’s a very convenient spot – forrest, with beautiful, old pine trees is located within walking distance from the main venue. The beach part is also stunning, a bit further away though. We went there for the portrait session later on the day.

The Beach Portrait Session
Lorna and David’s beach wedding session at the Harvest Moon venue was exceptional. Low sunlight made their shadows like long Silhouettes. Golden autumn light swept across the beach as the bride and groom stepped onto the sand, the low sun painting everything in warm amber tones.
Wind curled around them, lifting her long veil into soft, dramatic waves. The sea roared gently in the background, its rhythm matching their quiet smiles and intimate glances.
Every moment felt raw, natural, and beautifully unscripted—just the two of them wrapped in wind, light, and love. Their wedding session became less of a photoshoot and more of a story unfolding, shaped by autumn’s mood and the wild energy of the coast. The woodland photos were cool, but for Lorna, as a fan of the big sea, being on the beach and having a session with David away from the venue was a must.

Touch of The Little Mermaid and Musical vibe reception
Harvest Moon venue allows couples to shape their wedding day to match their vision. Lorna and David arranged everything themselves, from the catering to the band, channeling care and creativity into every detail. Without a planner, it took dedication, but the result was a day made truly theirs.
Returning to the main venue, the bride’s handcrafted decorations set the scene, each shell painted with music notes and nautical touches echoing the cake and table. The artistry reflected in every corner underscored the mood of the day—a personal celebration of love and self-expression. As skilled musicians, Lorna and David, joined by their family and friends, filled the evening with spontaneous music, carrying the spirit of the coast and their story into the night.

The Last Glimpse of the Sun
All in all, the Harvest Moon venue gave us so many opportunities for incredible portraits and allowed us to experiment with drone footage and different photography angles. From the woodland to the beach. At sunset, between the last course and dessert, we jumped out for the last, quick portrait session near the main barn venue. And it was a pure joy.
